What is CrossFit (2)?

CrossFit is a worldwide recognized strength and conditioning program. The CrossFit program offers scalability for athletes of all ages and abilities, from high school students to elderly individuals, from soccer moms to cage fighters. The workouts do not change, only the load and the intensity.

The CrossFit programming includes workouts that are across broad times and modal domains, seeking proficiency in areas of endurance, strength, flexibility, stamina, speed, coordination, power, agility, balance and accuracy. It draws from various areas of fitness, including Olympic Lifting and Powerlifting, gymnastics and forms of metabolic conditioning, such as rowing and running. More plainly put, CrossFit specializes in not specializing. The goal of fitness, in this case, is to become adept in a number of areas, not just one or two. For example, CrossFit seeks to make the marathon runner both faster and stronger and the weightlifter stronger, more agile and quicker.

Thousands of people across the globe have found success with the CrossFit regimen. By varying workload and intensity, the elite, average and novice athlete are able to take tremendous strides toward achieving overall fitness.
