Yesterday we spent a great deal of time working on our Power Snatches. They appeared in both the strength and the WOD. However, what made yesterday’s workout especially tough was the dynamic push ups, rather than the Power Snatch or the 1000 meter row that was involved in the WOD.
When 90% of our members came in yesterday (I made this percentage up; you can correct me if I’m wrong because I probably am…) they did not know what a dynamic push up was. However, by the end of each class period, everyone was well aware of the new movement that had just been added to the repertoire.
Reason being is that the dynamic push requires the person to move between the floor and plates or ballS. The athlete does a regular chest to deck push up with his hands on the ground and then jumps his hands to a higher position on the plates/balls. He then performs another push up; this time with a more extreme range of motion.
No doubt by the end of the WOD, which consisted of 1000 meter row and then three rounds of 15 Power Snatches and 20 Dynamic Push Ups, everyone had a new appreciation for regular old school push ups. In fact, I might have even seen that written somewhere in the bathroom…
Super work, guys! Now get ready for some leg work today!

Where do I find this shirt? I love it!
