If you've found your way to our Getting Started page, it is most likely because you are:
A) Excited about everything you've heard about CrossFit and CrossFit AMRAP so far and are eager to take the next step.
B) A little hesitant but are interested to see if CrossFit and CrossFit AMRAP are right for you.
C) Think we're a little odd because our methods are a bit unconventional (which admittedly they are) but are intrigued to see where we might go with this whole CrossFit thing.
Regardless of which category you may fall under, we are excited that you've made it this far and, as a result, are happy to reveal the best way to get started here at CrossFit AMRAP. The whole process goes a little like this:
1) Participate in our free class
2) Join and complete our six Foundations classes
3) Join CrossFit AMRAP as either a private, full-time, or part-time member (i.e. private memberships refer to personal training; a full-time membership consists of unlimited monthly classes; and a part-time membership would consist of a 12-classes punch card)
We realize that we may be getting a little ahead of ourselves by outlining the process in such a brief manner. Of course, we hope that you reach the illustrious Number Three, but we do want what's best for all our potential clients and existing members. For this reason, we've included an overview of what you can expect at each level below:
Our free class is the best way to get started here at CrossFit AMRAP. Every Saturday at 10 am we'll open our doors to potential clients so that they can experience CrossFit first hand. All you have to do is show up. We'll be there.
One of our staff members will lead you through a group warm up where you'll become acquainted with the movements that will be used in WOD. Shortly thereafter, you'll be put through a workout that is scaled to your athletic ability and level. Finally, after you're done kicking butt, you'll have the opportunity to talk to our staff to see if CrossFit AMRAP is right for you.
If you decide that the CrossFit method isn't in line with your personal fitness goals or if it just doesn't feel "right" (and we all know that feeling), then at least you'll have gotten to try it for free. Of course, we will be sad if this happens, but we also understand that CrossFit may not be for everyone.
On the other hand, if after trying our free class you are eager to get started (which we hope you are), then the next step is to sign up for our Foundations classes.
Our Foundations classes are your next step in becoming a full-fledged member at CrossFit AMRAP. To sign up for Foundations visit our Rates.
During Foundations, you will be introduced to the basic movements and lifts that are commonly utilized in CrossFit workouts. Foundations classes typically are held for two weeks on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. The times may vary. Don't get discouraged though; you'll still get an intense workout in our beginning classes. Not only that, but you'll be able to participate in regular group classes after your third session and get to experience what our other full-time and part-time members experience on a daily basis.
Once you've completed your Foundations, you may choose to do one of two things: A) Decide that CrossFit AMRAP is not for you and then go on your way (which makes us even more sad), or B) Sign up for either full-time/part-time membership or personal training. Personally, we hope that its option "B", but we do realize, much like with the free class, that CrossFit isn't for everyone.
That said, if you complete Foundations and decide to go with option "A", there is no need to worry about any kind of contract. We have no intention of locking you in to any kind of monthly/yearly agreement. When you've completed your sessions (whether it is all of them or one or two), you are done with CrossFit AMRAP - just like that.
On the other hand, if you go with option "B", your next step will be to either choose from unlimited monthly classes, a 12-class punch card, or personal training.
After you've completed Foundations, you'll be able to continue on with group training and choose from either unlimited monthly classes or a 12-class punch card membership (private training sessions are also available, but we'll get to that in a minute).
Like with the Foundations classes, you will not be locked into any kind of contract. We have no intention of getting you to sign-up for services you may potentially not end up using for days/weeks at a time. (Life happens, right?) In fact, we only get paid when you utilize our services. We want you to be able to get the best of what CrossFit AMRAP has to offer. For that to happen, we need you to be present. That said, while you have the option to come and go as you please, you will get the most out of CrossFit if you come on a regular basis.

We realize that group training sessions may not be the best option for everyone. Therefore, whether its Foundations classes or personal training, our coaches would be happy to work with you on an individual basis. We are more than happy to help you develop your athletic ability and skills and assist you in reaching your personal fitness goals.
