Like Headquarters and so many gyms around the nation yesterday, we remembered September 11th by completing a one of CrossFit’s Hero WODs. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Hero workouts, each one is named after fallen military, fire, or police – public servants.
Yesterday we choose to honor not only U.S. Army Sergeant Jeremiah Wittman, who was killed in the line of duty while stationed in Afghanistan, but also those who were lost and those who have since forth fought to protect America after the September 11th attacks. Here’s the workout we did:
“Wittman”
7 rounds for time:
15 Kettlebell Swings (55/35#)
15 Power Cleans (43/30k)
15 Box Jumps (24/20″)
As many can agree, the WOD was brutal, but we know our efforts were very small in comparison to those who continue to fight to protect and serve our nation. It was, however, as any CrossFitter can attest to, the best way for us to pay small tribute to and thank for all of the hard work, effort, and sacrifice that our military and service men and women do everyday.
So “thank you” to all of the members who were able to make it in yesterday and “thank you” to all of our former and current service and military men and women. May we never forget what you have done for us in the past and always appreciate what you continue to do.
